Ian Wilsonll

Ian has over 40 years practical and managerial experience in a wide range of engineering disciplines, leading design teams and operational groups on an international basis globally.

His chosen career path began in the design and manufacture of electrical switchgear for industrial applications with a major UK brand, specialising in low and medium voltage transformers and motor control gear.

Further studies in the mid seventies broadened Ian’s qualifications to include Mechanical Engineering and a move towards Industrial process engineering and Building Services, supported by working within plastic coated product manufacturing and The NHS.

A career change in 1978 brought fresh challenges overseas with four years in Saudi Arabia as part of the Aerospace industry designing and building military establishments.

On returning to the UK, Ian was involved in commissioning and operational work in the Nuclear Power Station building programme spanning a five year period, specialising in electrical services associated with Advanced Gas Cooled Reactors being constructed and set to work by the CEGB.

Since 1986, Ian has held senior engineering management positions within the Financial Sector in London, most notably for The London Stock Exchange, as Building Services Operations manager, and a number of Japanese financial organisations.

For the past 13 years Ian has occupied the post of Global Head of Engineering for a major investment bank based in UK, responsible for the delivery of engineering design standards in all major building expansion projects and, maintenance and operational activities associated with mission critical systems, including Data Centres, Trading Floors and general commercial premises. In heading up this role, Ian has gained a wide international knowledge and a highly respected reputation within the industry as a subject matter expert.
