The team assembled by Galileo Connect has a wealth of experience in data centre design, procurement, development and operations.
Individuals within Galileo Connect have been involved in the design and procurement of Tier 4 (UTI) stand alone new build data centre facilities for a number of the world's largest investment banks and financial/retail services companies such as Barclays, UBS, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Nationwide.
Additional valuable experience in design, implementation and operation has also been gained by Galileo Connect, working with various hosting organisations such as Global Switch, Digital Reality, Level 3 and Colt Telecoms. Working together, they have also successfully completed equally challenging projects in live buildings, involving either upgrading existing environments or conversion of other types of property for data centre purposes, for clients such as Reuters, Thomson and Bloomberg.
Galileo Connect offer a unique design capability, in that they are able to apply a wealth of first-hand experience of operating data centres (built up over many years) at the early design stage; this ensures that key decisions evolve from a balanced consideration of short-term and long-term operational issues.
Galileo Connect has enjoyed a successful working partnership with hurleypalmerflatt and EC Harris (ECH) in completing the design and procurement of a 150,000 sq ft facility at Stockley Park, near Heathrow; currently the largest speculatively to be built co-location data centre in the UK.
The professional team also offers a "cutting-edge" innovation capability, through leading an extensive programme of research & development activity within the data centre environment. The team also has market-leading experience in meeting today's challenges to corporate occupiers in respect of saving energy/sustainable development and protecting the wider environment.
In summary, the range and depth of direct data centre experience offered by Galileo Connect's project team as a whole is unrivalled in the sector.
