Galileo Connect's objective is to provide, best in class, premium quality environments for private and corporate end users, for the remote storage, transmission and transfer of data. In addition these environments can be adapted for use as high density buildings or HD Support Facilities and also as business continuity / disaster recovery areas. The building has been designed from the inside out and provides easy access to key plant and maintainable equipment on a 24/7 basis.
Construction is steel framed with modular metal cladding, louvres and minimal fenestration particularly in the main body of the building. Staircases are located on the four corners of the building in fully glazed enclosures. The roof will be a standing seam barrel vault construction. The internal spaces provided will be a mix of clean rooms, plant areas, ancillary support areas ie loading bay, reception, health and welfare facilities, NOC, offices and technical space. Materials used in all elements of construction have been procured from sustainable resources for quality, availability and cost. Externally car parking has been provided in relation to code and use classification. A 'Grascrete' road has been designed around the building to provide for Fire Brigade access and also to facilitate refuelling of oil storage tanks and replacement equipment. Perimeter security has been provided by a two fence solution with the inner leaf being tremblised. Vehicles, staff and visitors access the site by gated entrances and man traps and CCTV is provided externally and internally.
Building use classification will be dependent on location and local authority interpretation but the building can be accommodated by B1,B2,B8 and Sui Generis uses
